In the first match of this year’s McCullough Cup Sullivan travelled to Cookstown. This was only the second match that the full team played due to UK School Game and Interpros. Sullivan started well and controlled the game with Tom McCord having very little to do in the first half. Goals from Sonny Erskine, Fergus Gibson and Patrick Rose put them in control.
The second half Sullivan were less dominant after ‘taking the foot of the gas’. Cookstown won a few penalty corners but these were defended well and their only chances. A second half goal from Matthew Morris completed the scoring.
Final score Cookstown 0 – Sullivan 4 (S Erskine, Gibson, Rose and M Morris)
Sullivan play Methody this Wednesday at 4:15 pm at home, followed by Wallace High School next Saturday away.
