In the women’s foil, all 4 SU fencers made it through to the quarter-finals, with Alex, Izzy and Angharad going through to the last four. In the semi-finals Izzy lost to the eventual winner, while Alex knocked out Angharad to go through to the final. Here she was unable to overcome the top seed and came away with the silver medal. Alexander Penny was the only SU representative in the men’s foil event, where he fought through to the quarters, but was knocked out to finish just outside the medals.
