  • SULLIVAN RUGBY: BAVARIAN ULSTER TRAINING SESSION

    Before the summer break six Sullivan rugby players from Year 8 and 9 had the privilege of training with Ruan Pienaar, Rodney Ah You, Rob Herring and Louis Ludik at Instonians/Cooke’s rugby training ground. We started with some warm up routines and went into some passing drills and a touch match. This was followed by a master class in place kicking and box kicking and a chance to get involved, and show the players your skills. After the rugby we enjoyed a great barbeque thanks to BMW who generously sponsored the event and supplied goodie bags. The night was then concluded by photos and signatures with the players. It was a great opportunity to enhance our skills by learning from some of the Ulster players we aspire to be. It was an incredible experience and a great way to mark the end of the season for Sullivan Rugby. Patrick McFerran 9S {gallery}UlsterRugby{/gallery}

  • Sullivan Upper Rugby Tour to South Africa Summer 2017

    This summer a Senior Squad of 40 boys from Sullivan Upper travelled to South Africa on a two week rugby tour. After what has been a successful tour, the coaches would like to thank the players for what has been one of the most enjoyable tours we have been involved in. From embracing the sightseeing activities to giving their all on the rugby pitch these young men have been a credit to their school, their families and themselves. Their attitude on and off the pitch has been a joy to watch and shows their true character. We as a staff would like to thank everyone who has been involved in assisting the tour. To the parents thank you for all your assistance with fundraising and no doubt sacrificing to allow your son/sons to have an experience like this, to our sponsors thank you for your support which will hopefully continue in the future, to Chaka and Ascot Travel thank you for assisting us in putting together what we believe is a trip of a lifetime for these young men. From me personally I would like to thank the fantastic staff that travelled, the players will not begin to understand the amount of effort you have put into this trip, I trust they will be forever grateful for the sacrifices you have given to make this tour a reality. To anyone I have missed our sincerest thanks for all the effort you have put in. You may read about the tour on a blog written by the players at https://sullivanuppersouthafricarugbytour.wordpress.com.
